|||||||||||||||
|
Kneel behind the back of the dog, directly in back of the hindquarters.
Hold the rear legs on the lower portion of the legs (below the hocks).
With the dog lying on its side, pull both rear legs as close to the body as possible, joints bent (hock points close to the body). Holding the rear legs in this position, slip your other hand underneath the hip of the dog that is resting on the floor.
Still holding legs close to the body, lift the weight of the dog's hindquarters with the hand under the dogs hip, and roll the dog away from you and flip, by putting the legs you are holding under the body while flipping. This way, the dog is not turned over on its back, but is turned to the other side.
The dog will end up with its legs facing you, if you have done this correctly (when you flip the rear, the front follows).
![]() A Special Thanks to Lin for having her Casey pose for these photos :)
![]() Hope this helps. Our group is a close knit, caring group. If you have to deal with this disease, it's easier with support..... May all our dogs live a thousand years.. Marjorie
